Hope for the Future
This weeks challenge is to dream for the future. Now that you have reflected on 2018, take time this week to pray into 2019.
Write down what you are hoping God will teach you and train you?
What dreams do you have for 2019?
What do you want to overcome, persevere through and/or come into.
Set some goals for your intimate walk with God, but not resolutions or contracts, just dare to dream and hope with ABBA Father.

I was reading Exodus 25 and the references to almonds regarding God's instructions about the design of the Lampstand in the Tabernacle made me wonder why almonds were chosen specifically? I found that in Hebrew, almond tree is shaqed (Strong 2010) from the primary root word shaqad meaning "to be watchful." One website "godasagardener.com" states that almond buds and blossoms symbolize 2 things . The first is the constant watchfulness of God over his people and the second was the need for Israel to be alert to the commandments of God. It is further mentioned that the parallel to the almond references in this scripture is that it reminds us as God's children today that we need to remain alert to events and situations that can detract from keeping God as the primary focus of our lives. This is certainly something important to keep in mind, at least I found that it speaks to me and I guess that's why it was highlighted to me. I also learned as a bit of trivia, that an almond is not a nut but is actually a stone fruit and that there are two types of almonds, one being sweet and the other being bitter.
