Pray Psalm 139 Verse 23&24
So in week 3 it's time to get even more "real" than the previous 2 weeks. We are learning first to give our day and our agenda to God, and then to enter his court with thanksgiving. Now we need to ask God to come into the secret places of our life and sift out the things, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors, addictions, that are holding us back from receiving the fullness of our Father in heaven.
We know that God is all holy and perfect light. Ask God to shine a light into any dark area of your life. Ask him to reveal to you any part of your life that is still in darkness.
Then ask Him to lead you out into His perfect light and purity, "the way everlasting."
We all have room to grow, so ask that in God's mercy and grace, that He will help you grow. Don't forget that growing pains are painful, but are totally worth it. When we let go, we open a special space for God to fill with His goodness and a piece of Himself. Nothing compares to the sweetness and goodness of God.
Be prepared to let go and say YES to what ever God asks you to do in order to draw into Him. It may be something you knew already, or maybe something so hidden inside you that you didn't even know it was there, or maybe you just didn't think it is that bad, or destructive.
Lean on someone or the whole group. We are all in this together. Be there for each other this week as we grow deeper in our walk with the Lord. This is definitely a challenge where you get out what you put in. If you take it seriously and honestly ask, you will be amazed at the freedom you will receive by allowing God to "lead you in the way everlasting!"
This weeks Scripture Reading
Psalm 10-15
Proverbs 3
Malachi Chapters 1-4
Written to confront the people of Israel with their sins and to restore their relationship with God.
Joshua Chapters 1-24
Written as a history of Israel's conquest of the promised land. This is the representation of the fulfillment of the promise of God over the chosen people of Israel. God is faithful to keep His word.
Bonus Challenge
Bless your neighbor. This can be anything you choose from being encouraging, to serving, to giving something. Your neighbor in this challenge can be anyone of your choosing whom you do not normally do regular life with. This can not be someone in your family or whom you are a close to. It can be a friend, a co-worker, actual neighbor or someone completely random.
Share with the group what you did so that "you may spur one another on toward love and good deeds," (Hebrews 10:24)
Make it about God, testifying how He worked through you not a boasting of your greatness. Ask God for opportunities and what He wants you to do.

When I asked God to sift me, He let me know that I do many things for others that I love as well...which means I am ALSO doing them for me! Super convicting! I now want to intentionally do for others without seeing the spin-off benefits to me until after it happened. That may sound easy, but i think it may take some work before it comes naturally from the overflow of my heart.
