Week 14 - Happy New Year

This week be mindful and take stock in the year 2018 and what it was.

The challenge is to journal everyday this week about the past year. Once per day, try to recall the highlights, the low lights and God’s light and hand in 2018. Don’t make resolutions this week other than to grow with God in 2019.

Pray into the upcoming year and ask God to sift you of anything holding you back from operating in God’s perfect plan for your life. Take time to list out hopes and fears for 2019, so at the end of the year, you can asses the year that was.

Feel free to share any testimonies that God brings to your mind from 2018.

1Peter 4:7 “The END OF ALL THINGS is NEAR. Therefore be ALERT and of SOBER MIND so that YOU MAY PRAY”

Yesterday some of us were at a gathering where we were talking about eschatology (end times theology) and will be going through what the end may look like based on scripture.

This verse is striking because it teaches us to be alert (know what you are talking about and looking for answers) so that we may pray. Hard to pray in end times if you know little about it.......

just a thought.

Week 13 Happy Birthday Jesus

This week, be thankful, be helpful, put others first and be humble. This is a celebration of the birthday of THE KING and it’s all about HIM. Look for opportunities to serve like HIM, honor like HIM and above all else, LOVE like him. Refer to 1Corinthians Chapter 13 and apply these principals.

This time for year often brings out an ungrateful and selfish heart. Be the opposite and set the standard! BE A BLESSING no matter what others are acting or treating people like.

Daniel is so good! Random thought, where was Daniel when the others were thrown into the fire? It says "every nation". Did he bow??

Week 12 - Be a Good Neighbor

This weeks challenge is to shovel a neighbors driveway.

If it hasn’t snowed, take the time to clear someone’s who may have not cleared from the last snow fall. Use this as an opportunity to get connected to a neighbor and share the love of Christ this week.

Often it is the little things that soften a persons heart and moves them to ask, WHY. Why is a great place to start understanding the love of Papa God.

Last nigjt was very powerful night of fellowship and had an amazing blessed time. It was like one big family. And thanks for letting me part of it. Amen

Week 10 Listen Well

This week’s challenge is to listen well.

Scripture says in James 1:19 “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry

So this week live this verse out. Meditate on what it means and how to apply it to your daily life. Give your opinion only when asked, make the focus of your conversations those whom you are talking to. In general, just be quieter. Don’t be easily offended. Ask questions so that you can hear from others.

For some of us this will actually be a very difficult challenge, and for others of us, this is just normal. Pray for the group this week that we may be hearers this week.
